Autism centre lauds Park Inn hotels’ outreach programme

The Special Centre for Autism was opened after the Ministry of Social Development issued a decree for the creation of centres for the rehabilitation of persons that have special needs. Along with the interest of Sheik Mohamed Bin Suleiman Al Taie, who believed that “The establishing of the Specialty Centre for Autism and its attached Clinic has come out as a result of our belief in the importance of bearing the social responsibility towards our beloved Country.”


The Specialist Centre for autism was created, providing various services targeted towards encouraging a better understanding of autism and providing specialist services for people with autism and those who care for them.


September is the month that the Park Inn Hotels in Oman made it their point to add colour to people’s lives.


To commemorate the annual responsible business activity month, the two Park Inn by Radisson Hotels in Oman have collaborated and visited the Special Centre for Autism in Muscat, Oman.


A day filled with fun activities with the Park Inn hotels staff and the centre. The team was welcomed by the head of the centre, Dr Ali, the faculty and staff including the students.


The hotel employees and the members of the centre organised various activities like painting and tree planting for the children.


Nuno Neves, cluster general manager for Park Inn Muscat and Park Inn Duqm said that, “We ‘Think Community’ by working with organisations to reach out with the community. We support this kind of activity and value that a small act can make a difference. Awareness is the key in spreading the information.”


“We have students from 4 to 18 years old. We are glad that organisations like Park Inn hotels in Oman supports us for creating awareness about autism here in the country,” Dr. Ali said.


The centre provides a safe place and therapeutic environment for the rehabilitation of autistic children. They provide many facilities including proper staffed accommodation, with all day camera watch in all centre and accommodation sectors, delivering the autistic maximum level of independence.


It also provides all therapeutic means to the autistic child, including occupational therapy, speech treatment, behavioural therapy, psychotherapy and academic qualification.


They also provide services that give guardians and those involved with children with special needs a detailed explanation about autism and ensure that the information about autism are easily available for those who require it .
