MUSCAT, Jan 10 - A first of its kind polyclinic catering to the needs of families and operated by female staff has been launched at Mabela here.

Aster Al Raffah Polyclinic, the eighth branch in Oman by the Aster group of hospitals, was inaugurated under the auspices of Her Highness Hujaija bint Jaifar al Said and attended by officials and others. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare said that the new polyclinic is the testament to the group’s ongoing commitment and drive to provide quality healthcare services to the citizens and residents of Oman.

“Apart from all other facilities including the state-of-the art lab, all the departments in the clinic will be managed by female staff except for emergency needs for specialised doctors”, Dr Moopen said.

He said that the group has been endeavouring to avail all the specialised healthcare services to all people in the Sultanate.

The group has two hospitals and five clinics across the Sultanate.

“The Aster Al Raffah hospital in Muscat has already been in the process of expansion with a RO 15 million investment”, he said.

In case of the need for further specialised treatment, a patient can be transferred to the group’s multi-specialty hospitals across India, Dr Moopen said.

“Over the years, the healthcare landscape in Oman has undergone various changes. However, our consistent growth is a true testament of our efforts and commitment to increase out footprint within the Sultanate in order to deliver sustainable and accessible healthcare”, he said.

On the occasion, he revealed the group’s plan to provide jobs to physically challenged people.

“We have made a commitment to the community we serve. We already started a programme for appointing people with special needs in our hospitals in India. We will start it in Oman as well”, he said.

The group provides the patients with seamless access to the most advanced modes of patient centric care.

“Going ahead we will continue to deliver internationally recognised caliber of care and uphold our brand promise”, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Seeniya Biju, Chief Executive Officer, said that the opening of the new branch comes in line with the group’s efforts to improve its reach and add value to the patient care in the locality.

“Similar to all our facilities, the newly opened clinic is staffed with highly experienced medical professionals providing medical care that is best in class at the doorsteps of the people in Mebela and its adjoining areas”, she said.

Aster Al Raffah clinics are currently operational at Al Amerat, Al Khoud, Rusi, Liwa, Suhar and now in Mabela. The Group operates two hospitals in Oman — Al Ghubra in Muscat and Suhar.
