An art forum titled ‘Artists’ Camp’ has been organised by the Rustaq College of Education representative in Student Services Centre.
The camp, which will conclude on Thursday, gave the fine arts students an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Workshops were also held for students from 4 pm to 8 pm. The workshops were delivered by artists from outside the college.
An Arabic calligraphy workshop was conducted by Husain al Ruwaishdi, an artist. A drawing workshop was organised by famous Omani artist Salim al Salami, in which he spoke about acrylic paints and their use. Since the paint shines after drying, it can be used on wood and cardboard, he said.
The forum saw a workshop on make-up in cinema. It was conducted by Abdulrahim al Yahyaei, in which he focused on the foundation for cinema make-up.
The fourth workshop was on drawing with a pencil. Ruqaya al Balushi, a student majoring in accounting from the International Business Administration Department, presented it.
Ruqaya explained how to draw with a pencil besides showcasing some of her works to the participants.
On the third and day of the camp, results of participants’ pieces were kept for display.
The students thanked presenters for the different workshops.
