Arabsat board to meet in Oman

MUSCAT: The Sultanate will on Tuesday host a two-day meeting of The Arab Satellite Communications Organisation (Arabsat) Board of Director which will be followed by the general assembly meeting which will be attended by the Arab Ministers of Communication, under-secretaries of communication and heads of the Arab delegations taking part in the meeting. Khalid Balkhyour, CEO of Arabsat, said that a number of important issues will be discussed at Muscat meeting including presenting the annual report, electing new board members and approving the final statements for 2016. The board of directors of Arabsat includes nine states namely Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Libya, Sudan, Algeria and Djibouti. The CEO of Arabsat said that the organisation is completing the final touches to launch the first G6 satellite for Arabsat mid this year. — ONA
