MUSCAT: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, is leading the Sultanate’s delegation at the international conference on Safeguarding Endangered Cultural Heritage in Abu Dhabi. Organised in coordination with France and United Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture (Unesco), the conference is attended by representatives of 40 nations, including several heads of states and international experts. The conference will ratify a suitable mechanism for establishing an international fund for financing the procedures aimed at protecting endangered cultural heritage from destruction, looting and smuggling. — ONA
