MUSCAT: Al Youssef Group, one of the sponsors of ‘Omani Innovations’ exhibition, has provided material and moral support for entrepreneurs participating in the exhibition within the framework of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, and to promote the culture of entrepreneurship in the Sultanate.
There was diversity in the sorts of support provided by the company.
For example, direct procurement, especially in the field of crafts, dealing with entrepreneurs in the fields that the company is active in, contracting educational and training projects, lending financial support to some students who are incapable of paying fees and supporting a group of trainers to enhance their skills.
Dr Muhammad Bin Mousa Al Youssef, president of the group, listened to briefs about the innovative projects and discussed with entrepreneurs various solutions and advised them to develop their businesses.
Muhammad Al Youssef expressed his admiration for the Omani innovations he saw at the exhibition, praising the quantum leap that the services and products of entrepreneurs witnessed due changing perspective of youth towards this sector and the availability of support from different stakeholders.
Al Youssef praised the efforts from different quarters, be it from the Public Authority for SME (small and medium enterprises) Development (Riyada) or Al Raffd Fund, to promote entrepreneurship in the Sultanate and provide the financial support for various projects.
The exhibition was an opportunity for the Omani society to familiarise itself with the contributions of the Omani youth in entrepreneurship and to know the importance of buying from them, Muhammad Al Youssef said, adding that exhibitions area a chance to showcase the innovations of the Omani youth.
He said that Omani youth need to develop business acumen to achieve their dreams and face the challenges in running businesses.
