MUSCAT: Al Suwaiq and Dhofar will clash in the His Majesty’s Cup football final after advancing past their opponents with 2-1 aggregate scores in the second leg semifinals late on Tuesday. Two-time champions Al Suwaiq blanked Oman Club 2-0 at the Sohar Sports Complex to enter the final. Moroccan striker Oussama Halfi struck before the half-time to level the aggregate score 1-1 in favour of Al Suwaiq. Oman national team player Yaseen al Sheyadi slotted home the decisive goal in the second half to ensure a final berth. In the other semifinal at Salalah Sports Complex, Dhofar progressed despite a 1-0 defeat against defending champions Saham. Dhofar defended well to deny Saham strikers till a penalty goal by Mohammed al Ghassani in the 76th minute. Eight-time champions Dhofar had won the first leg 2-0 at Sohar Sports Complex. Lawson and Raeed Ibrahim were the scorers.
