Al Shomoukh International School inaugurated an art exhibition “Listen to your Art” which displays students’ artworks from KG through to Grade 11 yesterday evening at Bait Al Zubair. The art education at Al Shomoukh International School offers varied activities that introduce students to artistic expression types as a valuable means of communication: triggering creative impulses students need in any area in their lives, developing responsibility, cooperation, respect, harmony, and solidarity through individual and group work, and raising respectful, sophisticated and creative individuals who experiment, design and produce.

Through the art programme, students are equipped with critical and creative thinking, as well as artistic expression, visual arts techniques, and aesthetic sensitivity. Students study, interpret and follow the works of Omani and worldwide artists from past to present, with a universal artistic view. Students acquire knowledge and required skills that they need to express their ideas in an experimental, original and creative way. “We are absolutely amazed and proud not only by the level of imagination, creativity and talent, but also by our students’ bounds of enthusiasm, energy and commitment to strive for excellence”, principal of the school said.

“We are deeply grateful to Bait Al Zubair who have generously supported this project and realising our dream to present our very first exhibition. We also thank all the parents who have encouraged their children to participate in this exhibition, as well as staff who have supported. Finally, we most gratefully thank our dedicated Art and Design teacher Joanne Saad who has led the art department for the last three years and created an environment in which students have felt inspired and confident, and as such have developed an appreciation and love for the arts”, the principal added.
