MUSCAT: Al Saigh XI beat OUES XI by 44 runs on the opening day of the NMC Independence Cup 2017 organised by Oman Indo-Pak Friends and sponsored by National Metal Cans.
Al Saigh scored 77 for 2 in 8 overs at the Athaiba Cultural Sports ground. Waseem Akhtar 28 not out (3x6, 1x4), Akmal 22, Omer 18 were the main scorers.
In reply OUES XI scored 33 for 5 in 8 overs. For Al Saigh, Irfan took 2 wickets for 5 runs. Waseem Akhtar was adjudged the man of the match.
