Al Nahdha School lift Al Amerat football tournament title

Al Nahdha School football team won the title in the first edition of the Al Amerat football tournament in Al Amerat
Al Nahdha School team defeated Ahmed bin Said al Khalili School team in 7-6 in a penalty shoot-out after a goalless full-time.
Dr Yahya al Nadabi, Wali of Al Amerat, was the chief guest for the final in presence of Eng Essa al Riyami, Director-General of Muscat Municipality in Al Amerat. Chief guest Al Riyami gave away the trophies and medals to both teams.

Abdullah al Hashmi from Al Nahdha school team was awarded the most valuable player trophy and also grabbed the top-scorer prize. Badar al Fori from Ahmed bin Said School team got the best goalkeeper award. Al Nahdha school team reached the final after beating Wali Al Amerat Office 2-1 in the semifinal while Ahmed bin Said won against Al Harith bin Khalid School in penalty shoot-out 3-2 in the same stage.
Al Amerat Football Tournament for government institutions was organised by the Directorate-General of Muscat Municipality in Al Amerat. As many as eight teams participated in this tournament and were divided into two groups. Al Nahdha School, Ahmed bin Said al Khalili School and Al Amerat Police Station were placed in Group A along with Al Amerat Municipality (A) team. Group B comprised Abdullah bin Salam School, Al Harith bin Khalid School, Wali Al Amerat Office and Al Amerat Municipality (B).
