Yanqul: The Wilayat of Yanqul in the Governorate of Al Dhahirah is known for having more than 70 villages and  towns including Al Khabib.

Al Khabib Village, famous for its rock formations, is a communication link between the wilayats of Al Dhahirah and Al Buraimi. It has many AFalaj that are used as sources for irrigating orchards and farms.

The village, about 40 km for the wilaya centre and 114 km from the Wilayat of Dhank, is also known for having a number of archaeological sites and old houses.

It has four mosques built of mud alongside with many historic sites and old districts which reflect the Omani architecture.

"The main activity of the residents of Al Khabib Village is farming. The village is known for producing dates, citrus and lemon," said Said bin Salim al Manie, one of the dignitaries of the village.

"In the past, transport was difficult due to the rough terrain but now after opening the new road, transport and traffic have become very easy as the new road links three governorates, namely Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and North Al Batinah," said Hosham bin Sulayem al Manie, one of the residents of Al Khabib Village.

The new road provided the opportunity to see the beauty of the mountainous villages known for their calm and quietness which attract many tourists. --ONA
