SILVERSTONE, England: Within hours of Oman’s rookie Al Faisal al Zubair delivering a solid performance in the fourth round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Super Cup in Austria, his Lechner Racing Middle East team were packing their equipment away and heading across Western Europe to prepare for this weekend’s fifth round of the series at Silverstone in England. The Porsche GT3s will line up as one of the impressive support races to this weekend’s British Grand Prix, round 10 of the 20-race FIA Formula One World Championship, and Al Zubair will be hoping to continue his improvement and progression through the ranks of one of the world’s most popular one-make racing

series.

“I am excited to be heading to Silverstone for the next round because it is a track I know from before,” said FZ Racing’s Al Faisal. “It is a track I usually enjoy. In general, we are getting quicker and quicker and I am getting used to the car now. Hopefully, from the practice session, right up until the race, I can get even faster and finish in the points.”

Despite being beaten by Matt Campbell of the FACH AUTO TECH Team in Austria last Sunday morning, Michael Ammermüller continues to lead the series heading to the UK. Al Zubair’s German team-mate has 78 points and leads Dennis Olsen by 14 points. Aussie Campbell is third.

Porsche Mobil 1 Super Cup entrants will be permitted a free practice session on the 5.898km course, near Towcester, in England from 16.45hrs on Friday afternoon.

Qualifying takes centre stage on the circuit from 11.25hrs on Saturday and the fifth round of the 11-race series fires into life at 10.45hrs on Sunday.
