MUSCAT, April 25 - Abdullah al Maani, head of Al Dhahirah committee for ‘cheer your team’ programme, met with representatives of teams that will take part in the programme tournament in June. The meeting was attended by Saif al Ghafri, member of the technical committee, who explained the updated policy of the tournament, while Talal al Ghafri, football coach, highlighted on topics related to organising different tournaments in the coming edition of ‘cheer your team’ programme. ‘Cheer your team’ programme is one of the summer programmes that is run by the Ministry of Sports Affairs. The programme is based on football and volleyball tournaments to be held in summer in three stages.
The first stage will be within the wilayat, while the second stage features all the governorate teams. The last stage will feature the champions of governorates competing for the title. The workshop was attended by members of the programme committee. The mechanism of registration of players through electronic system and other important related topics were discussed. This year’s edition of ‘cheer your team’ programme will start on June 1 and will finish in the mid of August. ‘Cheer your team’ is one of the main summer programmes that will feature more than 700 teams around the Sultanate.
