MUSCAT: Participants of the 11th ACI Airport Exchange 2017 Conference and Exhibition have sent a cable of thanks and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. They expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, facilities and potentials, which enabled the conference to achieve its goals, represented in finding solutions for the challenges facing airports management sector, developing mechanisms to strengthen ties of investment and economic partnership among airports around the world.


They also valued the Omani leading stances in supporting civil aviation sector in the region and the world. They appreciated His Majesty’s stances in enhancing bonds of global peace, upon which the Airport Council International (ACI) is based. ACI includes membership of more than 1,800 airports around the world.


The participants of the conference also expressed their happiness to view the development renaissance made in the Sultanate under the prosperous reign of His Majesty. They affirmed that such achievements make the Sultanate of Oman a new regional centre to host major international events and activities.


The participants concluded their cable by praying to Allah the Almighty to perpetuate blessings of health and well-being on His Majesty the Sultan, and the Sultanate further progress and prosperity.


The two-day conference was hosted by the Sultanate, represented by Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participation of 48 countries.


The 11th ACI Airport Exchange 2017 Conference and Exhibition concluded on Thursday. A series of specialised workshops and discussion sessions were held on the concluding day, during which more than 120 speakers submitted a range of papers focusing on the conference’s sub-themes, namely ‘Security and Crisis Management Summit, Airport Operations Conference, Digital Innovation and Big Data, Airport Development Conference’.


The conference and its associating exhibition witnessed a large presence of over 1,500 participants from 48 countries around the world.


Fifty local and international exhibitors took part in the exhibition. They reviewed the latest technologies in the world of civil aviation and management of airports and related sectors. — ONA
