MUSCAT: Executives of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa signed an agreement with Adel al Abri, founder of Uniboats, a 100-per cent Omani-owned water sport equipment and activity company, to manage its water sports centre. The agreement was signed recently in the presence of Tariq al Farsi, CEO, Al Raffd Fund, top executives of The Zubair Corporation and Zubair Small Enterprises Centre. Adel al Abri is also a member of Zubair SEC, a social responsibility initiative of Z-Corp. The agreement was signed between Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa and water sports specialists Uniboats, an enterprise funded by Al Raffd Fund.
The agreement comes under the framework of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity to support Omani small and medium enterprises. The agreement for Uniboats to manage the water sports centre at the resort comes into effect from January 1.
Tariq al Farsi, Chief Executive Officer of Al Raffd Fund, said: “Al Raffd Fund supports cooperation between various government and private entities by signing funding and support agreements to motivate entrepreneurs, develop their businesses and ensure financial and administrative independence. The fund also enhances SMEs competitiveness by helping them develop competitive products and services in local and regional markets.”

Adel al Abri, who operates his company from Al Mouj Marina, is also the winner of the Zubair SEC’s Direct Support Programme in 2015.
