MUSCAT: After three days of opening e-registration to those wishing to perform Haj, the number of registered citizens and residents stands at 9,194.

The number of Omani applicants registering through the electronic system has reached 8,719, while Arabs residing in the Sultanate is 381, while non-Arab nationalities stands at 94 (both male and female). The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has opened online registration through its website www.hajj.om from April 10 to April 22, 2017.

The Saudi Haj authorities have decided to restore the Sultanate’s pilgrim quota to 14,000 as it will include about 12,664 of Omani pilgrims and 600 of expatriates living in Oman. The rest of quotas will be dedicated to Omani Haj Mission and the Omani Military Haj Mission. After the announcement of results, pilgrims can electronically select Haj operators in accordance to the best services and prices offered by these licensed Haj companies in addition to select health institutions sought for getting needed vaccinations.
