800 home businesses registered in six months

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has registered over 800 (845) home business during the first six months of this year.


These activities included businesses of Omani bread manufacturing, pastry sheets, five activities of photocopying and printing services, and two in retail stores specialized for flowers and natural plants, 396 for the manufacture and processing of incense, 12 for parcels and gifts, 14 activities in the field of making cakes of various kinds, nine in the field of textile, clothing and footwear rental (including wedding dresses),  17 activities in the field of making, drying and packing dates and figs, 32 activities in the field of kitchens, preparation of banquet and parties, two activities in the field of making pancakes of various kinds and two activities in the field making biscuits of all kinds.


In addition, 16 activities were recorded in the field of sewing women abayas and two for making bread


and bread products, 16 activities in the manufacture of perfumes for personal use, and 227 activities in the field of tailoring for Arab and non-Arab women, 62 activities in the field of hairdressing and cosmetics for women and 12 activities of fast food shops.


MOCI confirmed that domestic work can be practiced by citizens in their homes for as their source of income to help them to the requirements of daily life.


Such projects will  help citizens to expand their businesses in the future through shops and small and medium enterprises, which in turn will contribute to the national economy. ONA
