NIZWA, Sept 26 - Eight female students were injured, two seriously, when they were hit by a woman driver on Wednesday. According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP) sources, the incident took place when the students, all from the Nizwa Primary School for Girls, were waiting for their school bus. The driver, identified as Amna Sultan, had come to the school to pick up her daughter. She knocked down the students waiting for the school bus. Saif al Busaidy, Head of the media committee, Nizwa Hospital, said the condition of two of the girls is stated to be critical but stable. The others, who have sustained minor injuries, would be discharged after treatment. The Directorate General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has urged the need for caution while transporting students in private vehicles.
