MUSCAT: Award-winning Greek photojournalist Maro Kouri is organising a 6-day photojournalism workshop in Muscat and other places in Oman with the support of the Photographic Society of Oman (PSO). The workshop is being held from February 21 to 27 at the PSO office. The participants will be invited to an inspiring quest for images, in order to narrate the stories of the places and the people they visit. In search for portraits of people in their homeland, where they are born, grow up and work, the participants are given the opportunity to discover their own selves.
Weekend destinations planned include Muscat Grand Mosque, Muttrah souq, fish market, Corniche, Al Alam Palace, Hajar Mountains, Misfat al Abreyeen, Wadi Bani Khalid, and Al Sharqiyah sands. During the workshop, the participants will get hands on approach of the landscape as it is shaped by human presence. The workshop schedule also contains an afternoon of introduction in photojournalism and presentation of Kouri’s work at the Photographic Society of Oman, two days of photographic journey in Muscat, two days of photographic field trips outside Muscat, and one day of photo edit and text writing.
