MUSCAT: The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers violating the Labour Law during the period from January 22nd to 28th stood at 589 including 450 commercial workers, 60 farm workers and 79 housemaids and their equivalents.
The inspection teams caught 536 workers including 289 absconding workers, 244 astray workers and 3 workers with no documents.
The Governorate of Muscat witnessed the largest number of workers violating the law with 162, followed by the Governorate of North Al Batinah with 120. The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are taking the legal procedures against them.
