51 students on educational trip to Nasa

MUSCAT: A group of 51 students from Indian School Al Ghubra accompanied by four teachers undertook 13 days Astrotour to Nasa and the USA.


Their visit to Rocketry Camp at Kennedy Space Centre, Orlando gave an insight into the launching of a space shuttle. The explanation on different types of space shuttles and their significance in space technology broadened their horizon of knowledge.


The students learned about the life of people in space as well as the history of space technology.


They acquired first-hand experience in assembling and launching a model rocket.


Lunch with Astronaut Nicole Stott was a unique opportunity wherein Nicole shared her experience in space.


The tour of the USA which followed thereafter was an exciting learning experience for the students. They visited famous places such as Madam Tussauds Wax Museum, Orlando Eye, Universal Studio, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Niagara Falls to name a few.


They were thrilled to find in world famous places such as the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Lincoln Memorial, Capital Hill at Washington and New York Stock Exchange, the Statue of Liberty and Times Square at New York.


The students expressed gratitude to their parents and the school authorities for giving them this opportunity which they will cherish forever.
