MUSCAT: The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers violating the Labour Law from May 28 to June 3 stood at 497 including 398 commercial workers, 47 farm workers and 52 housemaids. The inspection teams caught 492 workers including 222 absconding workers, 256 astray workers and 14 workers with other violations. The Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah witnessed the largest number of workers violating the law with 150 followed by Muscat with 117 workers. The ministry statistics showed that 370 expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law. — ONA
