3,695 residential plots granted by end of Feb

MUSCAT: The number of residential land plots that has been granted at the various governorates stood at 3,695 as of the end of February 2017, a decline by 48.8 per cent compared to 7,222 land plots during the same period in 2016.


The statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) pointed out that the largest number of granted residential land plots reported in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah that stood at 1,178 representing a growth by 46.7 per cent compared to 803 land plots during the same period in 2016.


The Governorate of South Al Batinah came second with 537 residential land plots; a decline by 71 per cent compared to 1,851 residential land plots during the same period in 2016.


The number of residential land plots granted in Muscat stood at 457 a growth by 31.7 per cent compared to 347 residential land plots during the same period last year.


The number of residential land plots granted in Musandam stood at 368, the highest growth rate by 3,245.5 per cent compared to 11 residential land plots by the end of February 2016. The number of residential land plots granted in Al Buraimi stood at 318, a growth by 52.9 per cent compared to 208 residential land plots by the end of February 2016. The number of plots granted in South Al Sharqiyah stood at 290, an increase by 222.2 per cent compared to 90 plots. The number of residential land plots granted in North Al Sharqiyah stood at 197 a decline by 79.3 per cent compared to 952 plots.


The number of residential land plots granted in Al Wusta stood at 141 a growth by 2.9 per cent compared to 137 residential land plots in February 2016.


The number of plots granted in  Dhahirah stood at 105 the highest decline by 94.4 per cent compared to 1,870 plots.


The number of residential land plots granted in North Al Batinah (excluding the Wilayat of Sohar) stood at 76 a decline by 90.2 per cent compared to 775 during the same period in 2016. The number of residential land plots granted in Dhofar stood at 28, a decline by 84.3 per cent compared to 178 residential land plots in February 2016. — ONA
