MUSCAT: The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers violating the Labour Law during October 15 to 21 stood at 832, including 652 commercial workers, 105 farm-workers and 75 housemaids and their equivalents.
The inspection teams caught 829 workers, including 501 absconding workers, 286 illegal workers and 42 workers with other violations.
The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are taking the legal procedures against them. On the other hand, the Manpower Ministry statistics showed that 302 expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law. — ONA
