3-day exhibition highlighting facilities management begins

MUSCAT: The second edition of the Oman Cleaning and Facilities Management (OCFM) Conference and Exhibition was inaugurated on Monday by Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi al Hraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board. Organised by OITE Trade Fairs, the three-day event themed “Together towards Protecting Health, Facility and Environment” includes an exhibition, workshops and industry visit, which will serve as a hub for further discussion.


The chief guest said that the exhibition aims to highlight the ideal form of cleaning sector and facilities management. He pointed out that the participation of global companies, innovative solutions and various products at the exhibition urge those interested to introduce such solutions and productions to their business.


Conference sessions explore Facilities Management (FM) updates, business models, customer centricity, service charges and smart tech solutions. The first day of the conference commenced with a special presentation highlighting mega projects and key updates in FM and covered strategies for creating a structured approach to FM in the region, current trends of the country’s FM industry, holistic overviews of the FM industry in the Sultanate, emerging business models in FM, the importance of integrated, customer-centric and digitalized energy and FM solutions for long-term savings, service charges and life cycle costing, innovations in FM technology, the accessibility of inbuilt environments in terms of design and managed team’s responsibilities and waste-to-energy possibilities in the Sultanate.


The first day proceedings culminated in a Workshop on ‘Smart Facilities Management’ where the past, present and future of technology that makes facilities smarter was outlined and products that optimize communication within FM teams was explored.


The second day of the conference today will identify pest control regulations in the Sultanate and the region, alongside food storage; safety and security and the role played by awareness, training and HSE measures in urban pest management in the country.


The conference will host a comprehensive programme over a span of two days featuring speakers intent on sharing, updating knowledge and presenting their insight from the Facilities Management, Pest Control and Cleaning Industry. OCFM Exhibition presents optimal solutions to counter FM and Cleaning industry challenges over the course of three days, OCFM exhibition visitors can avail of prime solutions that protect and manage facilities. — ONA
