Over 23,000 voters registered for OCCI polls

MUSCAT: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Elections Committee pointed out that the number of voters who registered at OCCI elections for 2018-2022 term from December 17 to 28, 2017 stood at 23,505 of which 6,332 in the Governorate of Dhofar, 4,392 in the Governorate of Muscat, 4,152 in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, 2218 in the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah, 2,073 in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, 1268 in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah, 861 in the Governorate of Al Buraimi, 755 in the Governorate of Musandam, 694 in the Governorate of Al Dhahirah, 487 in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah and 273 in the Governorate of Al Wusta.

The initial lists of voters will be published at OCCI website www.chamberoman.om. The committee pointed out that relevant persons may object the initial lists of voters within three days from the next day of its publishing. The objection period began from January 3, and expires on January 8, Monday as per the provision of Article 12 of the ministerial decision No 225/2017. The objection should be submitted to the Appeals Committee using the form designated for this purpose. The decision of the Committee will be final. After settling all objections, the final lists of voters will be prepared. — ONA
