Muscat, August 21 - More than 70 ‘knights’ took part in the first gathering for horses and knights, organised by National Equestrian Commission in Nizwa. It was held under the auspices of Sheikh Hamad bin Salim bin Saif al Aghbari, Governor of Nizwa. The knights came from different places across the country. It consisted of various events, including horse racing and equestrian shows. Abdullah al Meshaifri, a noted photographer, said: “More than 200 photographers from various governorates of the Sultanate were in attendance to cover the event.” The lensmen, he said, were happy to cover the event, being held in Nizwa for the first time. One of his favourite photographs is that of a knight wearing a khanjar astride a horse.
